Paradise is tropical. From the palm trees and white sandy beaches to the sweet, sharp tropical fruits. Add this beer to that list.
Bursting with tropical flavours, this alcohol-free citra IPA does a great job of quenching a thirst for flavour that will make even the blandest beer-drinker feel fruity.
You don't need to be wearing a Hawaiian shirt and a straw hat to enjoy this beer, but it certainly helps add to the atmosphere.
The smell is very citrusy, but in the tart, almost sour way that you get with grapefruit and lemons. It pours a delightfully light colour with more citrus aromas, but more of a hoppy scent as you pour.
The flavour is hoppy at first but that quickly gets taken over by the fruit flavours - mainly grapefruit and melon but there's some sweeter notes too in there that give it a lot of flavour profiles to savour.
The aftertaste sees that tart, dryness return which leaves a sour taste in the mouth, which just makes you want to dive back in for another swig.
Big Drop's designs are subtle, keeping to the same theme that has served them well to make them so recognisable on the shelf. In this instance, the drop is a light green with a background of dark green, with detail to make it look like palm leaves.
It does give off a rainforesty vibe which is attractive, and the name of the beer, the less-than-0.5% promise badge and brewery name help to give the design an informative angle.
We picked this up at the Badger's Pantry at the Yorkshire Wildlife park - the same place we got the Honeycombe Pale from.
If you don't live local though then you can get this at Honest Brew for just £1.84, which is a lot less than a plane to the Bahamas.
