Seems like an obvious pun for a Christmas beer, probably the easiest one you can male. Happily, or hoppily, Brew Dog have backed up their pun game with an excellent brew.
Full of festive cheer from the 'batteries not included' message on the can to the fruity flavours bursting out of the beer itself, this one is a real Christmas cracker. That's it not, cliches are all out.
It's hoppy and fruity on the nose, a theme which carries on all the way through the beer from start to finish. It pours very light and thin, but despite the lack of body there's lots of flavour involved.
A malty base is present, but the tropical and citrus flavours dance on the tongue like nutcrackers (sorry, couldn't resist one more) and make it a very fruity and tasty beer.
The aftertaste a hoppy but the fruits and malt mix perfectly to balance it. It's one you could definitely drink quite a few of if you're not careful. Or even if you are careful.
A deep, festive red with snow flakes and drops on the can, coupled with the name of the brewery and beer in gold in Brew Dog's standard shield-style design.
On one side is a big message of 'batteries not included', which is a joke all parents will be able to laugh at at this time of year. It also reminded me that I needed to buy batteries, so kudos to them for that.
