Christmas morning breakfast's are special. Some go for smoked salmon, some just hit the prosecco straight away. This Christmas Morning is the best option, if you like your breakfast's boozy.
This one is very mysterious, with the description of 'Breakfast Waffle Stout' being the only detail I could find of this one. Maybe that adds to the mystery of Christmas, who knows.
The aroma is fruity, but not the sharp citrus kind of fruitiness you get with IPAs and sours. It's much more subtle and more akin to berry flavours, with a lot of sweetness there too.
The first taste punches home that berry flavour again, but also adds in a hint of vanilla and sugary creaminess that is very reminiscent of breakfast pastries.
The aftertaste carries through the vanilla flavour with the berries, and there's a subtle malty aftertaste to accompany it to add another dimension.
It's a big ole Santa face, but not as we know it. This guy's wearing mirrored shades and in the reflection, we can see what is obviously a sleigh in one lens and in the other what looks to be a flying Santa himself.
It's very bright, very eye-catching and very effective, with the jolly old elf's face ringed with the fluffy rim of his hat and of course his magnificent beard. There's a slight-green tint to the design which is pretty good at mimicking the bright lens filter.
There might just be time to get your hands on this festive breakfast option before the big day, but if you can't get one from a bottle shop you can get it online at Honest Brew.
It's just £3.78 for members, and £4.59 for non-members. Which for an Amundsen special is great value.
